Christmas Eve-Eve requires one thing easy, candy and splendidly comforting. Rounding off our Cosy Countdown to Christmas, our E-mail Advertising and marketing Supervisor, Nele, shares a favorite winter recipe: mushy, spiced baked apples. Greatest loved warm-from-the-oven alongside custard and (in fact) your favorite blanket.

The proper pairing for slowing down earlier than the festivities start, or for these dreamy days between Christmas and New 12 months.

Components

– 4 baking apples

– ¾ tbsp oats

– 1 tbsp jam (apricot works properly)

– ½ tbsp dried fruit (i.e. raisins)

– 1 tbsp almonds or walnuts

– 1 tbsp butter

– ¾ tbsp brown sugar

– 1 tsp ginger

– 1 tsp cinnamon

– 1 tsp nutmeg

custard or vanilla ice cream to serve

Methodology

1. Preheat your oven to 180C.

2. Minimize off the highest off your apples and put apart, then rigorously core the apples utilizing a corer, or knife and a spoon. Chop your almonds into smaller items.

3. Soften butter in a pan, add sugar and stir in your nuts to softly fry and caramalise. Then mix with dried fruit, jam, oats and spices and let cool barely.

4. Spoon your nut and fruit combination into your apples, place the apple prime on prime. Bake in a dish for 15-20 minutes or till the apples are mushy.

5. Serve with vanilla custard or ice cream and revel in.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Cosy New 12 months from all of us at The British Blanket Firm!
